Chelsea legend Frank Lampard 'closing in' on Championship job as replacement for ex-Man Utd striker after ruthless sack decision

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is reportedly "closing in" on his next managerial position, which will see him join Wayne Rooney in the Championship.

    Ex-England international Lampard last filled a coaching post in May 2023, as he brought a dire second spell in charge of Chelsea to a close having returned to Stamford Bridge for 11 games as interim boss in the wake of Graham Potter’s dismissal.

    The 46-year-old has also spent time in charge of Derby and Everton. According to , Lampard is being lined up to take the reins at Coventry – with Sky Blues owner Doug King reportedly eager to bring an "established name" into the CBS Arena.
